HOW TO INITIALIZE THE BLU-RAY DISC PLAYER
To put the program back at the factory-default, initialize the BD player as the following procedure.
Note:
# By initializing, network is reset to disconnected state and “Network Service Disclaimer” appears on the screen.
# Once the unit is initialized, the unit starts from Initialization the next time it is turned on. The  Initialization allows quick set up of language and network settings. To exit this mode, select “Cancel” on the screen.
1. Turn the power on.
2. Remove the disc on the tray and close the tray.
3. Press [SKIP UP], [1], [2], and [3] buttons on the remote control unit in this order
4. Press [ STOP ] button on the remote control unit.
5. After initializing, the power will turn off automatically.
FIRMWARE RENEWAL MODE
1. Turn the power on and remove the disc on the tray and close the tray.
2. Press [SKIP UP], [6], [5], and [4] buttons on the remote control unit in this order.
3. Select “Disc” or “USB” or “SD Card” and press [OK] button on the remote control unit.
4. Insert the disc or USB Memory Stick or SD Card for version up.
5. The BD player enters the F/W version up mode automatically. Make sure to insert the proper F/W for the state of this model.
6. After the update, the power will turn off automatically.
7. The power turns back on automatically. Remove the disc or USB Memory Stick or SD Card from the unit.
Note: All the settings will be put back to factory default.
The following USB Memory Stick/SD Card can be used for software update. Make sure to use a device that has enough space.
# USB Memory Stick (FAT16/FAT32 file system)
# SD/Mini SD/Micro SD Card (FAT12/FAT16 file system)
# SDHC/Mini SDHC/Micro SDHC Card (FAT32 file system)
How to Verify the Firmware Version
1. Turn the power on.
2. Remove the disc on the tray and close the tray.
3. Press [SKIP UP], [1], [2], and [3] buttons on the remote control unit in this order.
4. To exit this mode, press [ STOP ] button.
Network Update
1. Press [HOME] button to display Setup menu.
2. Select Settings - Others - Software Update - Network.
3. When “Yes” is chosen, the [Network connecting ] screen appears and the unit starts connecting to the network.
4. The firmware version confirmation screen  will appear on the screen. Select “Yes” and press [OK] button.
5. Firmware downloading starts.
6. Upon completion of downloading,  “D
ownload has been completedwill appear on the screen. Press [OK] button.
7. The unit starts reading the firmware.
8. Updating starts automatically.
9. The power turns off automatically.
10. The power turns back on automatically.
How to Eject Disc
When a disc cannot be removed due to malfunction or when an unplayable disc is inserted, follow the procedure below to remove the disc.
Procedure A
1. Unplug the AC adapter and then plug it in.
2. Turn the power on by pressing the [ EJECT ] button and the disc will be ejected automatically.
Procedure B
1. Remove the Front Assembly.
2. While pressing the portion A down, slide the portion B in the direction of the arrow as shown below to eject the disc.

LASER DIODE AND FOCUS SEARCH
1. Open the case and turn POWER on with no disc inserted.
2. Confirm that the following operation is performed while observing the objecting lens from the clearance of DVD mechanism deck.
1) Confirm that laser beam is spread.
2) Up and down motion of the objective lens. (2 times)
DISC TRAY LOCK
The disc tray lock function for the antitheft of an demonstration disc in the store is equipped.
Setting Procedure :
1. Press the [POWER] button to turn the set on.
2. Press the [FUNCTION] button to set DVD/CD function.
3. Insert a disc.
4. Press the [STOP] button and the [EJECT] button simultaneously for five seconds.
5. The message “LOCKED” is displayed and the tray is locked. 
Releasing Procedure :
1. Press the [STOP] button and the [EJECT] button simultaneously for five seconds again.
2. The message “UNLOCKED” is displayed and the tray is unlocked.
Note: When “LOCKED” is displayed, the tray lock is not released by turning power on/off with the [POWER] button.
TEST MODE
HOW TO ENTER TEST MODE
While pressing the [STOP] and the [EJECT] buttons simultaneously, turn the [VOLUME] control in the direction of (+) with the DVD player in power on. The Test Mode starts, displayed “SERVICE IN” on this model display then the menu shown below will be displayed on the TV screen.
Cold Reset
The cold reset clears all data including preset data stored in the RAM to initial conditions.
Procedure:
1. Press the [POWER] button to turn the power on.
2. Press three buttons [PLAY], [FUNCTION] and [POWER] simultaneously.
3. When this button is operated, display as “COLD RESET” for a while and all of the settings are reset.
2. Panel Test Mode
This mode is used to check the software version, FL and KEY.
Display Test Mode
Procedure:
1. Press the [POWER] button to turn the power on.
2. While pressing the [STOP] and the [EJECT] buttons simultaneously, turn the [VOLUME] control in the direction of (+).
3. When the display test mode is activated, all segments are turned on.
4. To exit from this mode, while pressing the [STOP] and the [PLAY] buttons simultaneously, turn the [VOLUME] control in the direction of (+).
FL Pattern Test Mode
Procedure:
1. When the display test mode is activated, press the [EJECT] button, to select the FL pattern test mode. When the FL pattern test mode, half segments of FL display.
2. Press the [EJECT] button, half segments of FL display.
3. Next press the [EJECT] button, all segments of FL display is turn on.
4. To exit from this mode, while pressing the [STOP] and the [PLAY]
DVD Version Display
The STR, DVD microprocessor versions are displayed.
Procedure:
1. Press the [POWER] button to turn the set on.
2. Press the [PLAY] button and the [POWER] button simultaneously for three seconds. SC version display is presented.
3. Pressing the [FUNCTION] button presents a DV version display. Pressing the [FUNCTION] button again returns to the SC version display.
4. To exit from this mode, press any button other than the [FUNCTION] button.] buttons simultaneously, turn the [VOLUME] control in the direction of (+).

5. Product Out
# This mode moves the optical pick-up to the position durable to vibration and clears all data including preset data stored in the STR RAM to initial conditions. Use this mode when returning the set to the customer after repair.
Procedure:
1. Press the [POWER] button to turn the power on.
2. Press the [FUNCTION] button to set the function “DVD/CD”.
3. Remove all discs.
4. While pressing the [STOP] and the [EJECT] buttons simultaneously, turn the [VOLUME] control in the direction of (+).
5. Displayed to message “SERVICE IN” on the fluorescent indicator tube when pressing in turn the [4] > [DVD MENU] >[CLEAR] buttons on the remote commander.
6. After the “STANDBY” blinking display finishes, the message
“MECHA LOCK” <> “UNPLUG” is displayed on the fluorescent indicator tube disconnect the AC power plug, then theproduct out mode is set.
The STR RAM initialization is executed upon a next power-on after the power is turned off.

Entering Service Mode
In power on condition, no discs and tray close, it will be entered into service mode by the following operation using the remote controller. However, it will not be entered when Media Select Item is SD Memory.
Service Mode using remote controller
Press the following buttons on the remote controller in power on condition, no discs and tray close;
[2] > [5] > [8] > [0] > [CLEAR]
Release from Service Mode
Press the [POWER OFF] button to turn off power.

FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE 
1. Turn the power on and remove the disc on the tray and close the tray.
2. To put the BD player into version up mode, press [9], [8], [7], [6], and [POP UP MENU/MENU] buttons on the remote control unit in that order.
The tray will open automatically.
3. Load the disc with new version.
4. The BD player enters the F/W version up mode automatically.
5. After Update,checksum on the VFD will displayed.
6. Unplug the AC cord from the AC outlet. Then plug it again.
7. Turn the power on.
8. Press [1], [2], [3], [4], and [DISPLAY] buttons on the remote control unit in that order.
9. Press [ STOP ] button on the remote control unit and verify the firmware version
10. To exit this mode, press [POWER OFF] button.
How to Verify the Firmware Version
1. Turn the power on.
2. Remove the disc on the tray and close the tray.
3. Press [1], [2], [3], [4], and [DISPLAY] buttons on the remote control unit in that order.

4. Press [ STOP ] button on the remote control unit and verify the firmware version
5. To exit this mode, press [POWER OFF] button.
TRAY LOCK MODE
Enter this mode using the following procedure.
1. Confirm that the TV Monitor is connected.
2. With playback stopped, press [SETUP], [TOP MENU], [3], [AUDIO], [0] and [SETUP] buttons on the remote control unit in that order. "Trade-On" appears in the upper right corner on the screen.
3. To exit this mode, press [SETUP], [TOP MENU], [3], [AUDIO], [0] and [SETUP] buttons on the remote control unit in that order. "Trade-Off" appears in the upper right corner on the screen.

UPGRADING THE VERSION
1. Procedure with a CD
1. Write the updated software on a CD to prepare the version-upgrading CD.
2. Connect the set to the monitor with an HDMI cable. (Keep the HDMI cable connected until the version-upgrading has been completed.)
3. Using the “POWER” key (on the set itself or on the remote controller), turn on the power.
*Do not turn on the power with the “EJECT” key.
4. Press the “EJECT” key to open the tray. Place the upgrading CD on the tray and press the “EJECT” key again to close the tray.
5. The CD is opened and the power turns off itself.
6. The power turns on itself and the upgrading gets started.
LCD display: V-UP blinking >  V-UP kept on
Mode display: Blue LED blinking > Blue LED kept on
Monitor screen: Upgrading progress displayed.
7. When the software has been 100% overwritten, the tray opens itself and the power turns off itself.
8. Take the CD out of the tray and press the “POWER” key to turn on the power again.
9. When the wallpaper shows up, hold down the “POWER” key to do the resetting. (Keep the “POWER” key depressed until the RESET message appears on the LCD. (About 10 seconds))
10.Press the “POWER” key again to turn on the power.
11.When the wallpaper shows up again, move from [Settings] to [Version] to make sure the software is upgraded.
12.When the upgrading has been successfully made, close the [Version] confirm screen and turn off the power. If it has failed, take the procedure over again from Step 3 above.
2. Procedure with a USB memory
1. Write the updated software on a USB memory to prepare the version-upgrading USB memory.
2. Connect the set to the monitor with an HDMI cable. (Keep the HDMI cable connected until the version-upgrading has been completed.)
3. Using the “POWER” key (on the set itself or on the remote controller), turn on the power.
*Do not turn on the power with the “EJECT” key.
4. Insert the upgrading USB memory into the USB port.
5. When the USB memory has been recognized (the “x” mark on the USB icon disappears and the USB recognition on-screen display appears), move from [Settings], [Software Update Settings], [Manual Update] to [USB Memory], and then press the “ENTER” or “ PLAY ” key.
6. Press “OK” on the USB recognition confirm screen.
7. The power turns on itself and the upgrading gets started.
LCD display: V-UP blinking >  V-UP kept on
Mode display: Blue LED blinking >  Blue LED kept on
Monitor screen: Upgrading progress displayed.
8. When the software has been 100% overwritten, the power turns off itself.
9. Draw the USB memory out of the USB port and press the “POWER” key to turn on the power again.
10.When the wallpaper shows up, hold down the “POWER” key to do the resetting. (Keep the “POWER” key depressed until the RESET message appears on the LCD. (About 10 seconds))
11.Press the “POWER” key again to turn on the power.
12.When the wallpaper shows up again, move from [Settings] to [Version] to make sure the software is upgraded.
13.When the upgrading has been successfully made, close the [Version] confirm screen and turn off the power. If it has failed, take the procedure over again from Step 3 above.
DISASSEMBLING PROCEDURE
1. Removing the Top Cabinet and Front Panel
1. Remove the 3 lock screws (1), 2 lock screws (2) and detach the Top Cabinet.
2. Unhook claws of the Front Panel and detach the Front Panel Ass’y.
2. Removing the Rear Panel
1. Remove the 2 lock screws (3), 1 lock screw (4), 2 lock screws (5) and detach the Rear Panel.
3. Removing the BD DRIVE Unit
1. Disconnect the 2 FFC Connectors.
2. Remove the 4 lock screws 6 and detach the BD DRIVE Unit.
3. Detach the Tray Blind Cover.
4. Removing the LCD Unit, MAIN Unit and POWER Unit
1. Disconnect the FFC (LCD - MAIN).
2. Disconnect the Connecting Cord (USB - MAIN).
3. Remove the 2 lock screws (7) and detach the LCD Unit.
4. Disconnect the Connecting Cord (POWER - MAIN).
5. Remove the 2 lock screws (8) and detach the MAIN Unit.
6. Remove the 4 lock screws (9) and detach the POWER Unit.

RELEASING THE DISC TRAY LOCK
Releasing Procedure :
1. Press the [POWER] button to turn the power on.
2. Press the [FUNCTION] button to set DVD/CD function.
3. Press the [STOP] button and the [EJECT] button simultaneously for five seconds again.
4. The message “UNLOCKED” is displayed and the tray is unlocked.
Note: When “LOCKED” is displayed, the tray lock is not released by turning power on/off with the [POWER] button.
HOW TO OPEN THE DISC TABLE WHEN POWER SWITCH TURNS OFF
Insert a tapering driver into the aperture of the unit bottom, and slide it in the direction of the arrow. Insert a screwdriver between the front panel and the chassis and slide the rod in the direction of the arrow (Tray opening ).
HOW TO DISCHARGE THE CAPACITORS 
Use a resistor of 800 ohms, 2 Watts for discharging the following capacitors.
POWER board primary side C903: 390V and on secondary side  
C932, C933, C934, CN904: 30V

TEST MODE
COLD RESET
Procedure:
1. Press the [POWER] button to turn the power on.
2. Press three buttons [PLAY], [FUNCTION] and [POWER] simultaneously.
3. When this button is operated, display as “COLD RESET” for a while and all of the settings are reset.
PANEL TEST MODE
This mode is used to check the software version, fluorescent indicator tube and keys.
Procedure:
1. Press the [POWER] button to turn the power on.
2. While pressing the [STOP] and the [PLAY] buttons simultaneously, turn the [MASTER VOLUME] rotate in the direction of Volume up.
3. When the panel test mode is activated, all segments are turned on.
Releasing method :
While pressing the [STOP] and the [PLAY] buttons simultaneously, turn the [MASTER VOLUME] rotate in the direction of Volume up.
FL pattern test mode
This mode can confirm the pattern of fluorescent indicator tube.
Procedure:
1. When the panel test mode is activated, press the [EJECT] button, to select the FL pattern test mode. When the FL pattern test mode, half segments of fluorescent indicator tube.
2. Press the [EJECT] button, half segments of fluorescent indicator
tube.
3. Next press the [EJECT] button, all segments of fluorescent indicator tube is turn on.

While pressing the [STOP] and the [PLAY] buttons simultaneously, turn the [MASTER VOLUME] rotate in the direction of Volume up.
Key test mode
This mode can confirm the operation of keys.
Procedure:
1. When the panel test mode is activated, press the [POWER] button, to select the key test mode.
2. To enter the KEY test mode, the fluorescent indicator displays “K0 V0”. Each time an another button is pressed, “KEY” value increases. However, once a button is pressed, it is no longer taken into account. When all keys are pressed correctly, “K6 V0”/“OK V0” are displayed.
3. When the [MASTER VOLUME] dial is turned in the direction of (+), “V0” is changed to “V1”, then ... “V9”. When the [MASTER VOLUME] rotate in the direction of Volume Down, “V0” is changed to “V9”, then ... “V1”
Releasing method :
While pressing the [STOP] and the [PLAY] buttons simultaneously, turn the [MASTER VOLUME] rotate in the direction of Volume up.
DISC TRAY LOCK
Procedure :
1. Press the [POWER] button to turn the power on.
2. Press the [FUNCTION] button to set DVD/CD function.
3. Insert a disc.
4. Press the [STOP] button and the [EJECT] button simultaneously for five seconds.
5. The message “LOCKED” is displayed and the tray is locked.
Releasing method :
1. Press the [STOP] button and the [EJECT] button simultaneously for five seconds again.
2. The message “UNLOCKED” is displayed and the tray is unlocked.
Note: When “LOCKED” is displayed, the tray lock is not released by turning power on/off with the [POWER] button.
